Moving!!

Moving!!

We will be live soon!

Life itself is a quotation.

I was just reading and it got me thinking about my favorite books and my favorite lines and then my favorite quotes… You know the ones I am talking about, the ones that grip you, and keep coming to mind years down the road. For me, it’s probably a mixture of these ones :

Alice in Wonderland- Lewis Carrollalice

Who are YOU?’ said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I–I hardly know, sir, just at present– at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.

I put the part that I really enjoy in bold because to understand it you have to have the whole thing. I love this because it really reminds me of me and how often things can happen that change they way you are. None of us wake up the exact same person that we went to bed believing we were. Each little conversation, each action we take or reaction that we have has a lasting effect on us.

The Four Loves– C.S. Lewis

cs lewis“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . .””

How true is that? I know, personally, that I have made so many friends accidentally, when someone blurts out the exact same thing I was just thinking. Its funny how that happens. You’re wandering along in this life feeling like no one understands this certain part of you, and bam– someone comes along and says just what you’re thinking and Kapow…instant friendship.

This Book is not for Sale – Jarod Kintz

dreams“Dreams, they are who I am when I’m too tired to be me.”

We find out so much about ourselves when we’re dreaming. I know, I have. I’ll go to bed worried about something, and when I wake, the answer has come to me. It’s not just literal only when you’re sleeping dreams either. The secret dreams you have– the ones where you imagine yourself to be a chef, a dancer or any number of things that you aren’t in your “real” life, those are the dreams that show you who you really are and who you want to be.

A Light in the AtticShel Silverstein

zebraI asked the Zebra, are you black with white stripes? Or white with black stripes?
And the zebra asked me, Are you good with bad habits?Or are you bad with good habits?
Are you noisy with quiet times? Or are you quiet with noisy times? Are
you happy with some sad days? Or are you sad with some happy days? Are you neat with some sloppy ways? Or are you sloppy with some neat ways? And on and on and on and on and on and on he went. I’ll never ask a zebra about stripes…again.

I love this one. It’s really never black and white, is it? We are never just what we seem on the outside. We are a mish-mash of things, good/bad, loud/quiet and etc. The best part is finding out what each persons mish-mash is made up of.

What’s your favorite quote? Does it have a special meaning for you?
